West Ham is eager to strengthen their defense this summer and is progressing in negotiations with Manchester United for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to talkSPORT. Wan-Bissaka could be transferred to East London for around £15 million (€17.8m/$19.5m), resulting in a significant loss for the Red Devils, who originally paid £50m (€59.5m/$65.1m) to acquire him from Crystal Palace in 2019.
Despite the inevitable financial loss, the deal is advantageous for both clubs. West Ham will gain a talented player to challenge or potentially replace Vladimir Coufal, while Manchester United can create space for Leny Yoro, who is undergoing a medical ahead of his transfer from Lille.
Wan-Bissaka was a regular starter at Old Trafford when not injured last season. However, with only one year left on his contract, his five-year tenure in Manchester seems to be nearing its end. The England international was part of the squad that won the FA Cup against Manchester City a few months ago, but that is likely his last appearance in a red shirt.
The deal has not yet been finalized, and it is uncertain if Wan-Bissaka would be willing to return to London. Currently, he is set to join Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the US, but this could change if West Ham submits an official bid soon.
