Manchester City to offer Ederson pay hike amid Saudi interest

Manchester City is considering a pay rise of around £1 million per month to deter Ederson from joining Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr. The club is unable to match the offer of £900,000 per week plus a signing-on fee. Ederson has less than two years on his contract and has been instrumental in City's success. However, no concrete offer has been received yet.

Manchester City plans to offer Ederson a significant pay rise to deter him from joining the Saudi Arabia revolution. Al-Nassr has shown interest in making the Brazilian goalkeeper their marquee signing with a staggering offer of £900,000 per week plus a signing-on fee.

City, unable to match these terms, will meet with Ederson’s representatives next week. They will propose a near-75% salary increase, amounting to approximately £1 million per month, to retain him at the Etihad during his peak years. While the club values Ederson highly and wants him to stay, they will not hinder his move if he opts to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, provided a £50 million transfer fee is met.

Ederson, who has less than two years left on his contract, has been instrumental in City’s success, helping them secure 16 trophies since his £34 million signing from Benfica seven years ago. City recently extended backup keeper Stefan Ortega’s contract, reflecting their confidence in him. Despite the interest from Saudi Arabia, no concrete offer has been received yet. Ederson is expected to join City on their pre-season trip to America if his future remains unresolved.
