Napoli has entered the competition to acquire Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood, with Sport Mediaset reporting that Antonio Conte’s club is nearing an agreement with the Red Devils.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli have shown interest in Greenwood and are actively negotiating with Manchester United. Sport Mediaset suggests Napoli are close to finalizing a deal with the English club for around €30 million.
Greenwood, who is reportedly not in Manchester United’s future plans, has received a formal offer from Marseille in Ligue 1. However, opposition from fans and even the city’s mayor has delayed the deal, allowing Napoli to enter the race.
Sky Sport reports that Napoli’s interest in the former Getafe loanee is so strong that they have surpassed their Serie A rivals Lazio in pursuit of the English winger. Lazio had confirmed their interest just days ago.
However, Sky insists that Napoli must offload Jesper Lindstrom before completing the transfer.
Napoli have kicked off their preseason with two new signings, Leonardo Spinazzola and Rafa Marin, while Alessandro Buongiorno is undergoing a medical in Rome today for his anticipated transfer.
