Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that this week could prove crucial for Riccardo Calafiori’s potential move to Arsenal, despite strong interest from PSG, Chelsea, and Bayer Leverkusen.

Several Italian sources indicate that Arsenal are currently leading the race to secure the services of Bologna and Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori.

According to Sky Sport Italia, this upcoming week could determine whether the defender will make the move to London.

Di Marzio asserts that Arsenal, under Mikel Arteta, have presented Calafiori with what is considered the most appealing project. Despite recent inquiries from Chelsea, PSG, and Bayer Leverkusen regarding the defender’s availability, Arsenal remains prominently in contention.

Meanwhile, Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Bologna turned down Arsenal’s €47 million bid, with the Gunners’ initial offer nearly meeting Bologna’s €50 million valuation.

Calafiori, a product of Roma’s youth academy, joined Bologna from Basel for just €4 million during the summer transfer window of 2023. Basel retains a 40% sell-on clause in any future transfer.
