Napoli are eager to accelerate negotiations with Torino for Alessandro Buongiorno in hopes of concluding a deal before the conclusion of the European Championship.
The 25-year-old Italian central defender has progressed significantly during his six years with Torino, particularly impressing in Serie A this season, which has garnered interest from several clubs including Inter, Juventus, and some Premier League teams.
Napoli’s coach, Antonio Conte, has already given his approval for the transfer, and the club has been engaged in discussions with Torino for several weeks now, aiming to secure Buongiorno before their competitors.
According to reports in today’s Tuttosport (Page 35) and Corriere dello Sport (Page 25), Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is actively communicating with his counterparts at Torino to finalize an agreement for Buongiorno.
Napoli have already tabled a €35 million offer for the defender, but Torino is holding out for €45 million in total. Buongiorno has been presented with a five-year contract worth approximately €2.5 million net per season plus performance-related bonuses. Napoli is keen to expedite negotiations and outpace their rivals, aiming to reach an agreement within the coming weeks.
