Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell’s Land Rover collided with a police car outside Elland Road just hours before their crucial play-off semi-final against Norwich. The incident occurred around 10:15 am near the club’s ticket office, with emergency services quickly attending the scene.
The 21-year-old, who has also represented England U21s, was reportedly driving the vehicle. Images from the scene show a Land Rover Defender and a severely damaged West Yorkshire Police patrol car. A police officer sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment. No other injuries were reported, and inquiries into the collision are ongoing. The crash happened as players were preparing for tonight’s pivotal second-leg match, with Leeds aiming for a spot in the Premier League.
After a scoreless first leg in Norwich, the Peacocks are favorites to secure a win at home, despite their poor away record this season. Cresswell, a regular substitute for Daniel Farke’s side, was part of the England U21 squad that won the 2023 European Under-21 Championship. Leeds United have been approached for comment.
