Stefano Pioli, the current coach of Milan, is now the primary contender to assume the managerial role at Napoli. Allegedly, he has reached a preliminary agreement with Aurelio De Laurentiis, the club’s president. Pioli’s tenure with the Rossoneri is likely coming to an end after five eventful years marked by triumphs like winning the Scudetto in the 2021-22 season and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League last year.

Milan has been actively seeking a successor for Pioli, exploring various options. Meanwhile, Napoli is also in pursuit of a new head coach following their hesitation with Antonio Conte. According to reports from Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Pioli has been engaged in discussions with De Laurentiis for several weeks, emerging as the frontrunner to lead Napoli once his departure from Milan is confirmed at the end of the season.

Though formal documentation hasn’t been finalized yet, Pioli and Napoli have tentatively agreed to a three-year contract starting in the summer, with only minor details left to be ironed out.
