Manchester City’s Kyle Walker suffered an injury during their Champions League clash against Real Madrid. The incident occurred when Walker cleared the ball off the line after Vinicius Jr. had poked it past Jordan Pickford. Unfortunately, as Walker collected the ball and cleared it, he accidentally hit the back of Harry Maguire’s head.
Following the incident, Walker went to the ground during the next break in play and was treated by physios. Despite trying to stretch out his right leg and sprinting up and down the touchline to alleviate the discomfort, Walker eventually signaled to come off. He was seen clutching his hamstring, indicating a potential hamstring injury. Walker’s injury will be a setback for City in their title charge, as he has been a key player, missing just two Premier League games this season.
The Citizens will face Arsenal in their first game back from the international break, and Walker is expected to be unavailable for that fixture. This injury adds to City’s concerns, as Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were also pulled from their national team squads as a precaution. Bukayo Saka also missed England’s clash with Brazil due to similar reasons, with Anthony Gordon making his Three Lions debut in his place.
