In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rodriguez can be heard saying, “Cristiano, one more year, then it’s done. Maybe two, I’m not sure.”

After celebrating his 39th birthday last month, there has been widespread speculation about the future of the Al-Nassr forward and when he will retire from professional football.

Ronaldo began his career in the youth ranks of Sporting Lisbon before moving to Manchester United in 2003.

Following a successful six-year spell at Old Trafford, he transferred to Real Madrid where he spent nine seasons, before a three-year stint with Juventus.

In 2021, he returned to Manchester United, but his second spell ended on sour terms in late 2022, leading to his move to Al-Nassr as a free agent.

Ronaldo has made 205 appearances for Portugal and scored 128 goals for the national team, a record in men’s football.

He ranks third among Europe’s top goalscorers over the past decade with 350 goals in the continent’s top five leagues, behind only Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has famously worn the No. 7 shirt, maintaining the tradition at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

In a recent match against Al-Hazm, Al-Nassr drew 4-4, although Ronaldo was absent due to a one-match ban for an ‘obscene gesture’.

Their next match is an away fixture against UAE’s Al Ain in the quarter-final of the Asian Champions League scheduled for Monday evening.
