“Jadon Sancho, the winger for Manchester United, has opted to deactivate his Instagram account. His tenure at Old Trafford has recently been marked by turmoil, following a public disagreement with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutch coach omitted Sancho from the squad in a match against Arsenal two weeks ago, citing concerns about the winger’s training performance.
In response to Ten Hag’s remarks, Sancho took to social media, posting a message that read: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”
Although he initially pinned this statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he later removed it. It has now been confirmed that Sancho has deactivated his Instagram account as well.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger, who had amassed 10 million followers on his @sanchooo10 account, has chosen to deactivate it. This development strongly suggests that Sancho’s time at Old Trafford is nearing its end, as Manchester United is open to selling him in January at a reduced price, despite having acquired him for £73 million just two years ago.
Following his public outburst after the Arsenal match, ten Hag excluded Sancho from the first-team plans, and the player has not yet offered an apology. Reports suggest that Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, and Harry Maguire attempted to persuade Sancho to apologize for his social media post while empathizing with his reasons for making it.
In addition to being excluded from first-team training, Sancho has also been banned from dining with his teammates and using other first-team training facilities, which has left him dissatisfied. Consequently, he has been compelled to eat with Manchester United’s youth team players.
Given the substantial fee Manchester United paid for Sancho, a player they pursued for nearly two years before his signing, parting with him at a reduced price would be a significant setback. However, with the relationship between Sancho and ten Hag seemingly irreparable, it appears highly likely that the 23-year-old will be playing elsewhere next season, or possibly even during the current season if the right offer emerges in January.”
